OptEM announces 2-day cable software training 6-7 May 2003 - Munich, Germany
OptEM Engineering Inc., Canada, has announced a 2-day technical training course of its OptEM Cable Designer software. Scheduled for May 6 and 7 in Munich, Germany, the course is targeted at engineers involved in multi-conductor twisted-pair cable design, and modelling ageing wires with wire defects and non-uniformities. Course topics include material definitions, cable geometry set-up and extrusion, uniform cable analysis, non-uniform cable modeling and analysis, and NEXT, FEXT and S-parameter results. A detailed review of cable design fundamentals, including electromagnetic analysis, numerical techniques, and transmission line theory, is provided to assist participants in understanding the how-and-why of cable modelling and analysis in the software. Participants will also have access to a 30-day free evaluation of the OptEM Cable Designer software upon completion of the course.
