| Rad-Con Group Co, USA, has announced that Stelco Inc., Canada, has purchased CAPS� V5 suite software from Entec Systems International (a Rad-Con Group company) to improve quality, reduce operating cost, and increase batch-annealing throughput at Stelco�s Hamilton, Canada facility. The Canadian company has purchased the heating model, cooling model, cleanliness model, and stacking model modules for the CAPS� V5 suite. When operational, the system is expected to provide Stelco with substantial savings and requires no hardware modification on the 36 four-stack bases.
Stelco Inc. is Canada's largest and most diversified steel producer, with an annual steel making capability of 5.9 million tonnes. The company is involved in all major segments of the steel industry through its integrated steel business, mini-mills, and manufactured products businesses. Steel products supplied by Stelco businesses to the North American market include hot rolled, cold rolled, and coated sheet, plate, bars and wire rod, and manufactured products, such as wire and wire products, and pipe and tubular products.
