| LOI Thermprocess GmbH, Germany, has recently been awarded a contract from the Austrian company Voest-Alpine Austria Draht GmbH for the modification of three annealing bases of the existing bell-type annealing plant at its Donawitz facility.
The contract covers the modernisation of the three bases to the latest standard of LOI Thermprocess GmbH. In particular, the outmoded welded structure of the diffusers is to be replaced by considerably stronger cast system. Last year, two bases of Voest-Alpine were already successfully converted to the new standard. The plant consists of a total of 7 annealing bases, 4 heating hoods and 3 cooling hoods. It is used for the heat treatment of wire in a 100% nitrogen atmosphere. The project is due to be completed in June 2003.
