SAMP Sistemi, Italy, a leading manufacturer of wire drawing and bunching machines who has expanded its manufacturing range by developing state-of-the-art extrusion lines, has recently reported a successful one-day symposium which took place in Istanbul, Turkey. Organised at the end of December 2002 by SAMP Sistemis Turkish agent Fermetal, the symposium was attended by 60 Turkish cable manufacturers. During the symposium, the following topics were highlighted:
- Physical foaming of PE and FEP for LAN and coaxial cables;
- Production of automotive cables with completely automatic colour change (no scrap solution);
- XLPE dry and liquid silane for low voltage cable;
- Halogen-free materials;
- New SAMP products for the cited categories.
In addition, SAMP introduced two of its most innovative solutions:
- The new SAMP skin-pass concept: a skin-pass module that can also be fitted on existing tandem insulation lines for LAN cables;
- A multiwire drawing machine suitable for nickel-plated copper wires. This machine has recently been designed and has been operating successfully for over one year.
