| Setic-Gauder Group, France, the double-twisting machine specialist belonging to the Gauder Group, Belgium, has recently organised a full week of demonstrations during which 45 delegates from major LAN cable producers world-wide have been introduced to the company�s latest developments for the production of LAN cable (UTP / FTP / SSTP) Cat. 5, 5e, 6, 6e, 7 and even Cat. 8 (up to 1.2GHz). Displayed machines were exhibited under production conditions
The attendees have been introduced to the latest company�s group twinner with backtwist, model GTSD - 1 step process. This new machine has been designed for the production of Cat. 6 (with and without separator) as well as Cat. 7 (SSTP) cables. Following the its manufacture (made in front of the visitors), the cable has immediately been tested (without jacket) with the Setic-Gauder Group�s full testing equipment (Impedance, NEXT, Attenuation). Of particular interest was the full tension controlled tape applicator on each of the 4 pairs (type TRLB 400-4M) which, apart of being included in the Setic-Gauder Group lines, can also be integrated in existing production facilities. This upgrading can convert a standard single-twist cable into a Cat. 7 and Cat. 8 production line.
In addition, Setic-Gauder Group introduced its family of individual twinners (2 step process) that comprises �all-in-one� machines (pay-offs and twisters) with backtwist, and that features a double-twist TA DVD model or the patented triple-twist VTT model that provides 50% higher production speed. Professional and detailed discussions took place on the different processes:
- 1 step process versus 2 step process;
- Cat. 6 without separator;
- Cabling in single twist versus double twist;
- Triple twist pairing.
Setic Gauder Group announced that new developments are already in progress to further increase the productivity. One of these developments is the use of the patented triple-twist technology in group twinners (1 step process).
