| Techint Technologies and its new Chinese company, Techint Industrial Technologies Co. (TITBCO), have been awarded a contract for the engineering, supply and supervision of a Consteel� EAF for the Jiaxing Dongfang Iron & Steel Company in the province of Zhejiang.
The new Consteel� (the ninth in China), 75 ton tapping size and 45 MVA + 10 per cent transformer power, is particularly important since a substantial share of the supply will be carried out by TITBCO. The combination of European technology design and Chinese manufacturing capability, under Techint�s overall supervision and responsibility, are creating a new highly effective competitive edge for the Techint offer.
The capability to accept client payments in local currency also represents added value, and enhances the rich range of services and facilities offered by Techint and TITBCO in China. The presence of Techint on the Chinese metallurgical market is becoming more and more consolidated.
