| The Brazilian steel wire producer, Belgo Bekaert Arames S.A., has placed an order with Austrias EBNER-Industrieofenbau GmbH to expand their works in Contagem, Minas Gerais, by two additional workbases, one heating bell and one cooling bell.
The new facility offers full workbase/bell compatibility with Belgo Bekaerts existing bell annealer, which was installed in 2000 and has been operating without problem ever since. This existing facility consists of three workbases, each with a charging diameter of 3700 mm and a charging height of 3700 mm.
The facility utilises the HICON/H2 bell annealer technology developed by EBNER, annealing the drawn or rolled steel wire coils in a straight hydrogen atmosphere. The charge will be re-crystallised and spheroidised in the high-convection furnace at an operating temperature of about 810C.
The facility will go into production in the third quarter of 2005.
