| Specialising in the development of materials testing equipment, Zwick GmbH & Co KG, Germany, has recently reported that its 13th company trade fair has once again been a success. Since the introduction of this trade fair, the number of visitors has continuously increased. This year, the trade fair showcased numerous innovative solutions for all branches, lectures by well-known experts, practical tests and demonstrations.
A large range of dynamic testing machines were presented to visitors, including Vibrophores with nominal loads from 5 to 500kN suitable for the performance of a large number of dynamic tests. With the corresponding additional devices, tests under different environmental conditions or even torsion and flexure tests can be performed. A typical type of application is for example the testing of automobile parts under environmental simulation. Servo-hydraulic testing machines, also on display, combine the high-rigidity of load frames for forces between 50 and 1,000kN with precise alignment for high-precision test results. Furthermore, after the launch a few years ago of optiXtens, the method for a high-precision, contact-free and standard-conforming measurement of specimen deformation without requiring measurement marks on the specimen, Zwick introduced the new multiXtens, a multi-functional extensometer that can be used for a large variety of different applications.
