| Specialising in the manufacture of both semi-automatic and fully automatic coiling/spooling, as well as boxing and rewinding lines, PS Costruzioni Meccaniche Srl, Italy, has recently announced that it has been awarded three contracts for the supply of spool winding lines in Australia. The lines, designed for packaging cables onto spools, will be delivered to three major Australian cable manufacturers: Olex Cables, Advance and Tycab.
One of the lines is PS Costruzioni�s model PS 1000/22/B, a double-head spooling line that can process spools ranging from 450 up to 1,000mm � and capable of winding up cables with diameters ranging from 2.25 up to 22mm �, as well as flat cables ranging from 6.22 x 4mm up to 22 x 9.35mm. This line has been supplied to Olex Cables. The two other Australian customers have purchased the automatic single-head spooling line, model PS 400/14-B. This line is suitable for cables ranging from 2 to 16mm � to be wound onto 200 to 400mm � spools.
