| North Oxford Garage, one of the biggest BMW dealerships in the UK, has recently opted for shielded and unshielded cabling solutions from D�twyler Cables+Systems AG, Switzerland, when building new commercial premises and workshop facilities. North Oxford Garage put-up new showrooms for new and used BMW motor cars and motorbikes, workshops, a parts department, offices, a canteen for staff and a coffee shop for customers. At a separate site, a showroom and workshop facilities for the MINI were built.
When equipping the premises with a new cabling infrastructure, the customer decided in favour of a high-performance class-E solution for all voice and data services for both locations. Category 6 components were chosen to eliminate electromagnetic interferences and to be able to support all current and future applications. The unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cabling in offices and showrooms uses D�twyler�s keystone solutions. For EMV sensitive areas, a shielded solution (STP) from D�twyler�s Unilan� portfolio was employed. Tests conducted after installation have shown that all ports fulfil Category 6 performance requirements.
