| Established in 1983, Mathiasen Machinery Inc. (MMI), USA, buys and sells used and reconditioned wire and cable machinery in both domestic and international markets, serving both the ferrous and non-ferrous wire industry. Machinery is purchased for inventory and stored in the company's warehouses or sold on an exclusive basis. The company recently announced that it has been awarded an exclusive contract to sell an Outokumpu upward continuous casting system on behalf of a major international wire and cable manufacturer. The caster is rated to produce 10,000 tonnes of oxygen-free copper rod per year. The line, which was decommissioned in 2000, is still installed and operational.
Mathiasen Machinery�s inventory includes straightening and cutting machines, mesh welders and butt welders.
