Nexans cables to modernise Korean automatic train protection
Nexans, France, a world leader in the cable industry, has recently been awarded a �1.5 million contract by Taejung Electric Construction Co. Ltd, Korea, for the supply of signal cabling for KORAIL, the Korean National Railroad. Nexans will deliver Balise cables for the automatic train protection project, which started in June 2004 and will be completed towards the end of 2006. Cables will be installed for the first time along two main routes: Seoul/Busan and Seoul/Yeosoo, helping to modernise Korean rail infrastructure and improve safety. The manufacturing know-how will be transferred from Nexans IKO to Nexans Korea.
