| Specialising in continuous casting technology, Rautomead International Ltd, UK, has recently announced the installation of a second RS3000 upward vertical casting machine at AB Elektrokoppar, Sweden. Scheduled for start-up during the first quarter of 2004, this second RS machine will increase the companys installed production capacity of CuAG and CuOF wire rod to 12,000 tonnes per year.
Commenting on the contract, Sir Michael Nairn, Chairman of Rautomead, said: It is very gratifying that Elektrokoppar have selected Rautomead for their second copper rod casting machine. The combination of the Rautomead process, with Conforms expertise to make high quality wrought profiles, represents a very neat and elegant solution for the production of small copper-silver sections. It also gives the manufacturer close control of the whole process sequence, from the refined cathode to the end product.
