| With less than four months left to prepare for the worlds largest wire and cable trade fair, it is apparent to most in our industry that the one time when we can safely expect an increase in orders and business contacts is nearly upon us. This two year rhythm of expenditure and expectation has become a fixture in our programme of design, production and budget planning, to the extent that many businesses in our industrial sector who design and produce machinery, actually rely on wire Dusseldorf for their survival in the global market place.
When over 30,000 visitors from eighty plus nations descend upon the wire and cable industrys largest and most comprehensive shop window of the latest technology, materials and products, it is clear to all that the influence of being at wire Dsseldorf, as an exhibitor or visitor, has the greatest impact on the fortunes of thousands of businesses in the supplier and consumer market of these industries. In our strife ridden world with its regional economic ups and downs, the stability of support and attendance of the Dsseldorf exhibition is one of the most optimistic focal points to which we all continuously subscribe. The necessity of being there is unchallengeable. The reason for not being there is almost inexcusable.
Talking recently to the wire Dsseldorf project director, Mr Friedrich Kehrer, we learn that the exhibition space still available at wire Dsseldorf 2004, which takes place from March 29 to April 2, is now less than 10% of the sell out total. Certainly it is clear that the segmented exhibition is sold out in many sectors and there are overspill exhibitors in some halls. The closing date for space applications prior to final hall planning is now past. Late comers are now being attended to on a first come first served basis for the remaining sought after stand locations. As with all trade shows organised by Messe Dsseldorf, the world-wide visitor promotion campaign is well under way, and through their 52 offices scattered all over the world, the message and assistance to visitor traffic is gathering momentum.
The thousand or so exhibitors who will meet some 40,000 visitors at wire Dsseldorf 2004 will be joined by an additional 600 plus exhibitors and 22,000 visitors at Tube Dsseldorf 2004. This international meeting of metal minds is unsurpassed for such specialised industry presentations. Business traffic is so good, if you are a competitor of any exhibitor at either of these two exhibitions, they will not be sorry if you are not there.
