Net shape engineering using laser beam technology has become increasingly important. To provide information about the latest developments in the field of laser material processing, the Chair of Manufacturing Technology of the University of Erlangen, Germany, in co-operation with the Bavarian Laser Center, will host LANE 2004, the 4th international conference on Laser Assisted Net Shape Enginnering. LANE 2004, which will be held from 21-24 September 2004 in Erlangen, Germany, will focus on laser technologies and processes which are very important for the future of manufacturing and might find their way into areas such as rapid prototyping or tooling micro and nano scale tasks, automotive applications and even into recycling or medicine. The conference LANE 2004 will be held at the Campus of the Physics Institute of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nurenberg, Germany.
