| Following another article in this issue (refer to �China changes?�), it appears that many opinions run very strong and are clearly in support of the new �wire China� show to be organised by Messe D�sseldorf and their daughter company in Shanghai PRC, 25-28 October 2004. With such overwhelming support from the large national groups in Europe, plus the exclusive support from SECRI in Shanghai, it appears that there may well be little appetite within our industry for another �Wire Asia�, just a few weeks later, in the same Chinese city. Time will tell.
Meanwhile here are some statements from the �Industry Associations�:
- ACIMAF (Italy): �We are pleased to confirm the support of ACIMAF for the wire and cable trade fair wire China 2004 to be organised by Messe D�sseldorf at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong PRC, from 25th to 28th October. ICE, the Italian Trade Institute will now advise the organiser of how much space will be required for the Italian Pavilion only at wire China 2004�;
- IWCEA Germany (formerly VDKM): �After careful examination of all details our Association has unanimously decided to fully support wire China to be organised by Messe D�sseldorf in October 2004. We are highly confident that wire China 2004 will be as successful for our industry as wire Russia has been a few months ago�;
- IWCEA France (formerly AFIEF): �We are pleased to confirm that our members will fully support the new wire China exhibition which will take place in October 2004, in Shanghai. Shortly with the assistance of UBI-France, we will advise the size of the French Pavilion�;
- IWMA International: �Following a year of careful consideration, our Executive Committee fully endorse the agreement to only support �wire China 2004� organised by Messe D�sseldorf GmbH and Messe D�sseldorf China Ltd from the 25-28 October at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, PRC�;
- AWCMA (Austria): �AWCMA- IWCEA Austria, has unanimously decided to participate with a large Austrian group of exhibitors only at wire China 2004, from the 25-28 October at the new fairgrounds in Pudong, PRC�.
