Vitelec doubles the capacity of its RF cable assembly facility
In response to the growing demand from design engineers, installers and OEMs for standard and custom-built cable assemblies, Vitelec Electronics, part of Emerson Network Power, has recently doubled the capacity of its RF cable assembly facility at Bordon, UK. This dedicated facility offers customers help at every stage in their project life cycle: from initial design concept through to full production. At the outset of any new project, Vitelecs specialist engineers assist the project designers in their selection of suitable connectors and cable assembly configurations. Once the initial design is determined, Vitelec will build samples for full evaluation and testing, ensuring that the optimum final design is achieved to meet the project requirements. As demand for standard and custom-built RF cable assemblies continues to grow, this increase in our capacity will significantly enhance the service we are able to offer to our customers and illustrates our long-term commitment to the UK and European market place, commented Mr Peter Walmsley, Vitelecs European sales & marketing director.

The RF cable assemblies manufactured by Vitelec are designed for many diverse applications with frequency requirements from DC to 18GHz. As part of Emerson Network Power, Vitelec can offer cable-manufacturing capabilities extending from hand built customer specials to fully automated production of high-volume standard assemblies. For higher frequency applications, the performance of each individual cable is checked on a network analyser and a plot of the results can be supplied with the cable if required. Cable assemblies can be designed and manufactured utilising any of Vitelecs wide ranges of standard, miniature, sub-miniature and micro-miniature RF coaxial connectors terminated to most industry standard flexible, semi-rigid and conformable cables. An important element in the expansion of the Vitelec RF cable assembly facility has been the measures taken to reduce costs. Every aspect of the design and manufacturing process is subject to continuous scrutiny in order to identify and eliminate inefficiencies and wastage, and to ensure the most cost efficient assembly methods are used for each type of cable.
