Tulsa Power veteran machinery producer
Tulsa Power, a 30-year veteran, is a well-known wire and cable handling equipment manufacturer. In its facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, the company designs and builds a wide range of material-handling equipment. This range includes pay-offs, take-ups, accumulators, linear measurers, caterpillars, coilers, rewind/test lines, twinner/quadders, concentric taping lines, spiral striping machines and control upgrades, as well as featuring many speciality items.
Tulsa Power recently introduced its new line of high speed rewind/test platforms. The high speed rewinder/tester is the latest addition to what the company says is an already successful line of single unit high speed pay-offs and take-ups.
By joining both units (pay-off and take-up) on one common platform, Tulsa’s engineers have developed an ‘All-In-One’ system for rewind and testing requirements.
The system shown is shaftless in design
for easy loading and unloading of process reels. (Optional PLC controlled load and unload lift tables are available for fully automatic loading/unloading).
The driven pay-off system is controlled by an onboard multi-sheave (weighted) dancer assembly, minimising floor space usage, while ensuring a smooth, even flow of material during pay-off. A frame mounted high accuracy linear track style measurer is electronically integrated, via bi-directional encoder, to the rewind system to stop once the digital counter reaches a pre-selected length.
Conductor insulation is tested via a frame mounted high frequency sine wave spark testing system (impulse style systems are also available). If a fault is detected, the unit can be programmed to stop the line, and reverse to fault or continue to run and record at the footage the fault occurred. Digital touchscreen or rolling ring traverses provide a premium job evenly traversing the material onto the take-up reel.
The Tulsa Power high speed rewind/ tension systems are available for up to 1500kg, 1220mm reels. A host of drive configurations are available and Tulsa’s engineers can quote to suit the customer’s exact specifications.
