Efficient measuring systems for LAN, coaxial and fibre optic cables
Specialising in the development and manufacture of manual and automatic measuring systems for the cable industry, AESA SA, Switzerland offers a wide portfolio of systems that covers the needs for standard telephone cable, xDSL cable, as well as LAN cable industries. AESA’s measuring systems can be equipped with a wide range of connecting frames (up to 104 pairs). They are designed to perform measurements from 12.5Hz up to 2GHz for LAN cables. Driven by a powerful Windows®-based software package, the company’s family of testers, that includes models 9500, 9600 and 9900, can match all possible technical requirements. A SQL-server database system, the ADDM, has recently been added to AESA’s product range to provide the necessary tools allowing performing powerful statistics over a production period or for a given type of cable. Margin surveys and cable evaluations according to various specifications are also possible with the ADDM.
To measure coaxial cables of all sizes, AESA proposes its tester model 9700. Versions with fast reusable connectors or less connector solutions are available to match any requirement. The company also provides a full range of resistance bridges to cover all needs from 0.002 up to 1,800mm2. The models 7195, 7197, 7197ET and 7198 are dedicated for lab measurements. Another unit, model 8130, has been designed to be directly installed on the standing machine, in order to increase the measurement accuracy on large strands and consequently to allow substantial material savings.
For the fibre optic industry, AESA produces manual and automatic alignment systems, designed to ensure fast, low-loss and easy connection between an injection fibre and the fibre to measure. The automation of a test station is provided when linking together, through a GPIB-bus, an OTDR and/or a PMD test set, the alignment system MAS 950 and a computer system with the powerful AESA WDMAS software.
