Helicord wire surface treatment
Established in 1983, Boockmann GmbH, Germany, specialises in the design and supply of wire cleaning devices, impregnating plants, as well as magnet wire lubrication systems. The company also offers its Helicord system, a device for wire surface treatment based on the principle of friction between a relatively fast moving wire and a controlled slowly moving textile thread wound around the wire. The new Helicord NB55 model has been developed on the basis of the company’s Helilubricators NB52 and NB53 systems, designed for lubrication of the winding wires, and the company’s Heliclean device NB59, designed for wire cleaning.
Being equipped with an automatic control of the yarn pretension, Helicord NB55 is also suitable for the cleaning of wires with higher friction and with the yarn running in the opposite direction of the wire run (the speed of the yarn is adjustable from 4 to 120cm/min). For applying and polishing materials on wire surface, Boockmann GmbH operates the wire run and yarn run in the same direction. Pretension, friction forces, as well as the speed of the yarn are shown on LCD-display. The friction forces (from 6 to 100N and adjustable through the pretension and the number of loops) and the speed are controlled by regulation of the proven and robust synchronous motors with two-phase frequency inverters. External PLC-control is possible so that the device can be fitted into more complex production lines.
