Mechanical heavy-descaling and polishing machines
Specialising in the supply of machines for the steel wire industry, Electrorrec S.A., Spain, offers complete projects for the manufacturing of calibrated and threaded bars. The company also offers a range of mechanical descaling and polishing machines. The mechanical descaling machines, DECL series, descale the rod by a combined bending and polishing system. Their modular design provides a wide range of configurations according to the customer requirements. When high cleaning is required, the heavy-descaling unit DECL-G is co-ordinated with the fine descaling unit DECL-F and a UP polishing unit. However, a large number of applications can be solved by using only the DECL-G unit together with a UP unit.
Electrorrec provides three models of descaling systems: DECL-16 (5.5 to 16.0mm Ø), DECL-20 (12.0 to 20.0mm Ø) and DECL-28 (14.0 to 28.0mm Ø), as well as two polishing machines (models UP-1 and UP-2). The heavy-descaling unit features a double set of bending rollers in two planes 90° with central rollers hydraulically driven (models DECL-20 and DECL-28 have only one set of bending rollers). The bending rollers are equipped with tungsten carbide central rings. The fine descaling unit consists of two sets of wire brushes also allocated in two planes 90°. An independent pneumatic cylinder, which allows a permanent contact between the wire brushes and the wire rod surface, independently of the brushes wearing, tilt each set. The polishing units UP can be equipped with metallic wire brushes (UP-1) or abrasive wheels (UP-2) depending on final product specifications.
