Modular mechanical descalers
With over 40 years experience in the production of low-carbon wires, R. Lisciani Trafilerie has developed innovative rod drawing auxiliaries, such as mechanical descaling systems and rotary die holders. The company has recently launched its new SC90 series of mechanical descalers, designed for inlet rods up to 14mm Ø, and that comes to complement the company’s SC55b series (designed for inlet rod diameters up to 8mm). Lisciani’s mechanical descalers are designed for simple and effective rod preparation with a marked cost-reduction through three different stages:
- Rod bending and scale breaking by integral tungsten carbide bending rolls;
- Rod cleaning by patented "Steel Wool Wiping Devices" that remove the more adherent residues of scale using cheap consumable abrasives (commercial steel wool);
- Efficient lubricant pick-up and first drawing step by a special lubricant holder box and a patented high-pressure rotary die-holder.
The scale and the exhausted lubricant can be easily removed from the descaler frame by the collecting boxes that equips the descaler or special automatic systems (available as option). These technical characteristics make the SC55b one of the most competitive descaling systems on the market.
The company also offers rotary die-holders, such as the new FR5 model, designed for rods up to 14mm Ø. This new model features a patented design bringing the die very close to the lubricant for lower die wear, higher drawing speeds and higher quality of the product.
