A new method for simulteous pre-heating, cleaning, pickling and annealing
Established in 2003, Plasmait GmbH has since introduced to the market PlasmaAnnealer, a new a device based on Plasmait© technology, designed for efficient and environmentally friendly wire surface treatment and annealing. Compared to traditional processes, Plasmait© offers three key advantages: increased output, lower wire processing costs and significantly higher surface quality of the end product. Other benefits are the remarkable flexibility of the machine in terms of wire thickness and wire material, quick-start and stop, as well as its environmental friendliness. Plasmait© method has been designed to simultaneously perform four processes: pre-heating, cleaning, pickling and annealing. Depending on application, PlasmaAnnealer can perform all four processes in one single step. Plasmait© method reduces energy consumption by up to 60% and the method can achieve extremely high temperatures of up to 2,000°C.
Plasma technology will be welcomed by companies facing increased pressure from new environmental regulation. Plasmait© requires no chemicals for wire cleaning and can be used as a replacement for classical pickling. In the case of copper, brass and bronze, this new technology even reduces water consumption. The main advantage of Plasmait© method is an outstanding surface quality of the processed materials. The method brings the greatest benefits for steel and stainless steel wire processing (due to its low-cost heat treatment and elimination of pickling); HF/DSL cable processing (due to high-surface quality and smoothness); extrusion/galvanising (due to extreme surface cleanliness and surface quality).
