Pit furnaces for treatment under controlled atmosphere
Specialising in industrial plants for heat treatment, the Italian company I.LE.S. Srl has recently released a new range of pit furnaces for treatment under controlled atmosphere, such as gaseous carburizing, carbonitriding and nitriding. Available in six standard sizes, with electrical or methane heating, these furnaces feature a forced circulation of the internal atmosphere and recirculating jacket, in order to reach the most homogeneous treatment. The thermal insulation is made of high-density ceramic fibres to reduce heat waste to the minimum. The furnaces can be supplied with a maximum working temperature of 950°C or 1,100°C. The controlled atmosphere is usually obtained by direct injections of nitrogen/methanol or ammonia, or by a separate endothermic generator that is fed by methane or GPL. The control of the atmosphere is achieved by means of an oxygen probe, of particular conformation for pit furnaces or CO2 analysis. Carburizing and nitriding processes are also managed through a PC.
I.LE.S.
