Exotic wires for the aerospace and automotive industry

Founded in 1946 and specialising in nickel and cobalt alloy wire production, Alloy Wire International has recently made heavy investments in wire drawing, die making and annealing plant, enabling the company to extend its size range to 15mm in some alloys, and significantly increasing capacity.

The current business is based around the production of high-performance nickel-alloys and cobalt-alloys in round, square, tape and more complicated shapes such as “T”. Alloy Wire International supplies these exotic or super-alloys for the spring manufacturing industry, fastener stock and light engineering for aerospace, offshore, automotive, medical and jewellery applications. The company holds a wide range of over 40 nickel-alloys. Recent new alloys include MP35N, Phynox and RENE41. Their size range, in some alloys, will shortly be increased to 0.500” Ø. The company has also recently re-introduced resistance wire into its product range. Alloy Wire International has not traded in these alloys for a few years but feels that there is an opportunity to manufacture and sell high-quality products in the specialised areas of this particular market.
