A revolutionary surface finish to wire

Société Nouvelle de Tréfilerie Normande (SNTN), France, specialises in the production of high-quality low-carbon steel wire with gauges ranging from 2.0 up to 16.0mm, exporting its products world-wide. Drawn steel wire is used in numerous and diverse industries such as shop-fitting equipment, automotive industry, electrical appliances, agriculture and building construction.

The company has recently introduced a special low-carbon steel wire branded Flashwire®.. The new wire has been designed to meet the most stringent production requirements by providing optimal wire surface quality for chrome, nickel and gold plating. Its surface roughness values are RA 0.15 to 0.25µm and RZ 1.10 to 2.50µm. Furthermore, Flashwire® is fully compatible with 3D and computer controlled bending machines (the new wire is dead-wound with no memory and uniform mechanical properties). It can also be used on multiple headed slide machines, as well as traditional straighteners. The new Flashwire is available in parallel wound coils ranging from 1 to 3 tonnes, with diameters ranging from 6 to 16mm. Environmentally friendly, Flashwire® can be delivered in traditional wound coils for smaller diameters or cut to lengths up to 6m.
