Enhanced and flexible aluminium building wire
Southwire Company, USA, offers AlumaFlex™, a new and improved aluminium building wire that provides greater flexibility for residential and commercial installations. This enhanced feature is being offered on Southwire’s service entrance cable and XHHW aluminium building wire products. “Contractors have come to rely on Southwire’s aluminium building wire for strength and reliability in any installation”, explained Mr Dave Mercier, technical director for Southwire’s electrical division. “Our new AlumaFlex building wire provides the same durability and strength with greater flexibility. This enhancement makes even the toughest installation job easier and less time-consuming for the contractor”, Mr Mercier added.
Along with its flexibility, AlumaFlex building wire offers a number of other important benefits for the installer. For example, the SER cable includes three extruded red stripes on a phase conductor and three extruded white stripes on the neutral conductor for easy identification, even in poorly lighted conditions. In addition, sequential footage markings on the jacket provide for quick and easy measurement during installation. This enhancement of the company’s aluminium building wire line is a direct result of listening to customers’ requirements and responding to their needs. “Our main goal is to provide the right products and services to help our customers and end-users do their jobs better.
