Multi-wire drawing machines for fine copper wires
SAMP Sistemi, Italy, a leading manufacturer of wire drawing and bunching machines, has expanded its portfolio of multi-wire drawing machines by introducing its model MT105-8R, a machine that comprises two independent sections which are perfectly integrated in a single machine. This revolutionary design allows an inlet wire size up to 2.65mm Ø maximum. The first drawing section of the new MT105-8R features 4 drawing dies with big capstans 105mm Ø capstans that enable an easy winding of the bigger wire sizes. The second section features capstans of 80mm Ø. The two sections are secured to each other. A wide operator friendly spacing in the sections allows an easy wire string-up. The drawing machine structure of the machine utilises a patented SAMP Sistemi transmission that includes high-efficiency gears.
The first 4-capstan section is motorised independently to the second drawing section and the synchronisation is controlled by a microprocessor for the two motors of the drawing sections and the quick die change system. Both drawing sections share common cooling systems (including pneumatic, electric circuits and emulsion system). The model MT105-8R provides manufacturers with advantages such as the recovery of the slip accumulated in the second drawing section as it is possible to independently use the two sections. Another advantage is that the inlet drafts of the second section can be by-passed, keeping the first 4 drafts strung-up (which are anyway harder to be strung owing to the thick wire Ø). The MT105-8R is high-flexible and permits to operate both sections independently. In addition, by keeping the first section strung-up, it is possible to change the production in a very short time.
