Wet and dry wire drawing machines for a wide array of steel wires
With over 30 years of experience, GCR Eurodraw SpA, Italy, is a major producer of equipment suitable for low and high-carbon steel rod and wire down to fine diameter stainless steel wire. The company specialises in the production of plant and machinery for the production of steel cord, hose wires, bead wires, rope wires, welding wires, brake cables, aircraft cables, PC wires and strands, PHC steel alloy stressing bars, staple wires, stainless steel wires, wire for electrodes, wire ropes and others. A complete range of machinery and processing equipment can be supplied, from wire rod descaling and thick/medium drawing, to cleaning and metal-plating (copper, brass, bronze, nickel, zinc, etc.), fine drawing and stranding, bunching, as well as cabling and wrapping.
GCR Eurodraw’s range of dry drawing machines includes, among others, the MTS 1200 model for PC wires and strands as well as for spring wires, the MTO 760 model for cold rolling or the MTX 180 model for drawing fine diameter stainless steel wires, in-line with electrolytic cleaning. Cleaning and plating lines are offered in one or two-wire versions, as well as multi-wire lines for combinations up to 56 wires, and they are often supplied in-line with heat treatments. Several models of wet drawing machines are also available, suitable with two or four vertical or horizontal axis drawing cones. They can be provided with an extensive choice of spoolers. Dry drawing drafts can be mounted at the inlet or outlet and a combination dry/wet drawing machine is also available. Wet drawing machines are especially suitable for drawing down to zinc or brass-plated fine diameter wires (to a minimum of 0.15mm), with take-up on spools for subsequent stranding and cabling.
GCR Eurodraw also offers a wide selection of high-speed, double-twist stranding and cabling machines, for the production of steel cord for radial tyres and other stranded products. The company also supplies skip stranders for PC strands (in particular the CLR 1250) and tubular stranders that are designed for stainless steel or galvanized strands. Equipment for steel cord production has been supplied to all the major tyre producers. Plant and equipment for other plated wire and cord products, as well as PC wires and strands and cold rolling equipment have been provided to companies throughout the world
