EFAF: a packaging specialist
Engineering Future Automazione Flessibile (EFAF) is committed to providing inno-vative and reliable packaging lines to the international wire and cable industry.
The company manufactures five ranges of automatic coil winding lines, known as the Mautomatic 300 Evolution, 400, 500 and 600, plus the Mac. There are also two ranges of automatic spool winding lines, known as the Mab 350 and 630.
The Mautomatic 300 Evolution automatic
coil winding line can handle six coils per minute, while the Mautomatic 600 R version has been manufactured to coil
bare copper cable with a cross-section of up to 95mm2.
The Mac and B-Mac represent the new range of cheap, automatic, easy, compact and ready-to-work coilers and/or spoolers, explains the company. And all of EFAF’s coilers are also suitable for use with aluminium, plastic tubes and pipes.
The latest news from EFAF in the field of cable winding automation is a fully automatic spool winding line for use with a wide range of wooden spools with a minimum diameter of 600mm up to a maximum diameter of 1100mm.
It is also possible for this line to process iron spools with diameters of from 1250mm up to 1600mm, using a semi-automatic cycle. Cable dimensions are from 6 to 22mm in diameter, and the maximum line speed
is 400m/min.
The line consists of an SDA 2240 portal pay-off, a dancer, a feeding and winding spool store, a traversing and cutter unit, an AVP 1600 take-up and a film-wrapping machine.
All of the operations, from the feeding of the empty spools up to the packaging with stretch film, are fully automatic, and the operator need only position the empty spools on the store and take off the packaged spool at the end of the line. This considerably reduces line downtime.
An innovative cable guide also enables accurate traversing to give a very good-looking final spool.
EFAF’s production portfolio also includes automatic rewinding lines, automatic label-ling devices with applicators and pallet wrapping machines for stretch film.
