Extruders
Rosendahl, as an extruder manufacturer with decades of experience, has introduced its newest generation of extruders called ROEX. These are characterised by even higher output with the best melt quality. The combination of new barrel and screw design provides higher output with perfect linearity independent of back pressure. A grooved insert, part of the entry section sleeve, is replaceable and either water cooled or temperature controlled by an external cooling/heating device.
In order to reach maximum endurance, barrels and screws are made of high-quality steel and nitrided. Due to high stress in the feeding section the screw thread is additionally armoured. For special applications the barrel can be made of extremely wear resistant bi-metal.
For uniform and highly efficient cooling the flow channels have been optimized. To increase heating and cooling efficiency the covers of the flow channels are double walled for thermal insulation thus providing higher energy efficiency.
A ‘direct-drive’ concept with AC-technology provides a high performance gearbox with integrated thrust bearing directly driven by built-in AC motors, providing optimized torque and speed for the materials to be processed.
The main features include: a wide control range; high efficiency; smooth running; very low noise emission; maintenance-free motors; and a compact and space-saving design.
Other options are available such as: longi-tudinal moveablity for easier handling and thermal expansion compensation at multi-extruder arrangements; and co-extruders, moveable in all three dimensions.
The full technical features are as follows. The diameter of screw: 30, 38, 45, 60, 90,120 and 150mm. L/D ratio: 24, 30, 36 (physical foaming). Drive power 8–280 kW. Maximum screw rotation per minute: 75–227 rpm. Heating power 6–55.8 kW. Number of heating/cooling zones: 3, 4, or 5. Materials: PVC, PE, XLPE, HFFR, TPE, TPU, FEP ,PFA
and PA.
An example of maximum output for PVC would be in the range of 30–1200kg.
