FEATURE NEWS:
Automatic die feeding and sorting
Conoptica promotes production and quality control systems with automatic die feeding and sorting to ensure an optimum quality product with a low level of manual input and margin for errors.
These systems automatically measure the key geometrical parameters of dies such as: diameter, ovality, bearing length, reduction angle, meeting point parameters and so on.
This level of automatisation has now been brought to a complete cycle, where automatic feeding and sorting have replaced
manual feeding.
Fully automated, the dies are fed to Conoptica’s Production and Quality Control System, controlled for the geometrical
parameters of interest, documented by saving the SPC data
to Excel and/or Access, marked with data (date, diameter, quality level) and then sorted to one
of several output positions.
The Automatic Die Feeding and Sorting (ADFS) can typically take a complete pro-file measurement in 40 seconds.
The Feed & Sort Supervisor is the software that con- trols the last part of the operation. The operator defines which input and output positions are needed and to which output positions the different dies should be sorted.
The ADFS is equipped with matrix or linear sorting and the standard version can sort into 81 classes/output boxes without slowing the cycle down. The linear sorting can sort into 8 classes.
