Extruder versatility

Reifenhäuser extruders are the starting point of high-quality products and reflect technical superiority and a great versatility.

The extruder barrels are manufactured from extremely hard-wearing, corrosion-resistant bimetallic materials. Screw design and screw geometry are developed and matched to the specific raw material and product requirements.

The manufacture of screws and barrels is undertaken on ultra-modern computer-controlled central turning and milling units. An extensive quality assurance programme ensures screws and barrels are supplied to a consistent high quality.

Reifenhäuser has divided its extruder range into two series:

RH with high-level plasticizing unit
RT with low-level plasticizing unit

In addition, a new drive concept has been developed with the special Reitorque gearless drive technology.

The specially developed design series using the gearless Reitorque drive technology is distinguished by the following advantages, in addition to energy savings:

simple screw changes (some designs even allow removal of the screw to the back of the extruder as a standard)
flexible fitting position
considerably higher efficiency than for motor-gearbox combinations

Due to their compact design, extruders provided with the Reitorque technology are expecially suitable for use in multi-layer coextrusion lines.

The single-screw extruder is suitable for all known insulation and coating materials that are available in pellet form, for example polyamide, HD-PE, PP and so on.

Depending on the raw materials and the application, various alloys are chosen for the plastification unit. The process length and screw geometry are constantly adapted to today's modern raw materials and the high demands on production reliability and quality.
