FEATURE NEWS:
Guill crossheads “more accurate and faster”
Guill Tool & Engineering is now marketing a new fixed centre Spiralflow high speed extrusion system – up to 7000 feet per minute – that holds precise tolerances and needs no adjustment.
This new addition to Guill’s line of crossheads is specially designed to serve the advanced data communications market with its demanding specifications for copper and tight buffer fibre optics. In addition, the 700HS also meets the requirements of the building wire and the THHN market for PVC and other types of wire products produced at high speed.
The 700HS offers a host of benefits for many wire extrusion applications. These include: a proprietary centre adjustment with a patented deflector that ensures that close tolerances are held during the entire run and that the walls of the product are concentric as well – even at the highest speeds.
William Conley, Guill Tool’s Sales Manager, comments: “The new 700HS offers the industry the exact design needed for high speed and precision. This means considerable savings in any type of thermoplastics or fluoropolymer material over the other slower and less accurate equipment in the industry.” He continues: “With compound material costs rising rapidly, savings are important because more end-products can be extruded yet less compound material needs to be purchased by the manufacturer.”
The 700HS series design is fully adaptable to all extruders and has a balanced flow design for effortless assembly and disassembly of the crosshead. The core size is up to 3/8" and the maximum product size is 1/2".
The 700HS is also expandable for multiple layered products and can easily be adapted to produce co-extrusion or a special design including a stripe.
