Wet drawing with ‘honey’

It may not be as sweet, but it is as sticky and adhesive. The new drawing medium Draw Mill Adhesive Viscose is an innovation by the German company Jankowski. This medium combines the advantages of oil and fat and the lubrication film it creates gives good sliding characteristics during drawing. Due to its carefully chosen ingredients, Draw Mill Adhesive Viscose is particularly suited for use in the drawing of carbon and stainless steel wires.

Jankowski lists the advantages as follows:

Excellent sliding lubrication on wire.
No tunnel formation in the process of drawing.
Low viscosity allows for long operating times.
Best compability with oils or fats in subsequent processing (no frothing or blistering).
