Ultimation goes for custom build market
Ultimation Machines’ product line is not limited to standard wire forming machines, as it also designs and manufactures special purpose models to suit customer requirements.
In 2005, the company has designed and manufactured the new ubw-24, a 3D jig welder for the fully automatic welding of basket style products for the manufacture of tree baskets used in the nursery industry.
The concept allows an operator to load a jig with the required wire forms. It is then rotated into the weld and forming head for the automatic welding and forming of the basket base, with a typical cycle time of 7 seconds. This has greatly reduced the manufacturing time and the labour required to produce this type of product.
Ultimation Machines is currently working on a crosswire welding machine for the automatic welding of crosswires into rectangular frames. It has also begun production on its largest project to date –
a machine for the automatic forming, welding, and stacking of truss supports used in the construction industry.
