World’s first from Bihler, now Bihler worldwide
It is almost 50 years since aircraft mechanic Otto Bihler built the world’s first automatic radial wire and strip bending machine (1956). What had begun in 1953 with the manufacturing of springs and automatic spring winders has grown to become the world’s largest manufacturer of automatic punching and bending machines for metal-forming, and of CAD/CAM software for stamping and forming technology.
Bihler’s machine systems manufacture both radially and linearly, and key tech-nologies such as welding, tapping, screw insertion and assembly are integrated in
the fully automated work processes.
