Turnkey MV power installations from MPI
MPI recently delivered and commissioned the machines for a medium voltage power cable plant on a turnkey basis.
Turnkey projects has been a gradual development for the 25-year-old company better known for its manufacturing programme which includes caterpillars, portal take up stands, steel tape heads, rigid and planetary type stranders, wire/strip/tape armouring machines, drum twisters for power and telephone cable,
90–120mm sheathing/jacketing lines, bunching machines, heavy duty cable rewinding machines, core laying up machines and high speed twining/
bunching machines.
Other turnkey contracts of note include the supply and commissioning of a high-speed rigid strander fork type for aluminum and copper conductors in Mauritius, a 13-die rod break down machine to the UK as well as manufacturing and successfully installing and commissioning a jelly filled cable plant.
The company states: “As well as supplying more than 100 steel tape armouring machines to telephone and power cable manufacturers, MPI has supplied its machines to most of the top cable manufacturers in India and also exported machines to the Middle East, South Africa and Europe.”
