Universal hardness tester
Providing the wire industry with testing machines, Zwick GmbH & Co KG has recently introduced its new Universal Hardness Tester, model ZHU250, suitable for classical hardness tests on metals and for the testing of plastics. The new tester works according to the Rockwell R, L, M,  test methods and determines the ball indentation hardness. All conventional optical hardness test methods (Vickers, Brinell, Knoop) and the depth measurement method (Rockwell) can also be carried-out in conformity with the standards within a load range from 1 to 250kg.

The ZHU 250 tester is simple and easy to use, providing a large test area, included measurement without parallax error (with the lines of measurement being integrated in the ground glass screen optics), a fully automatic test sequence and the use of a high-precision closed loop system. With the RS232 connection to the companys test software testXpert, all tests can be evaluated and documented. Data can for example be transferred to quality assurance systems for further processing. Customised accessories for a large range of applications are also available.
