Measuring tensile forces on running materials
Specialising in the design and manufacture of high-precision electronic systems, Tensometric Metechnik GmbH, Germany, has recently launched Quatt Range, a new measuring head designed for measuring tensile forces on running materials with diameters up to 10mm. Quatt Range is available for voltages of 5V, 12V or 24V, making it compatible for most existing voltage sources. The analogue output supplies a voltage of 0 to 10V, which is proportional to the measuring results.

Quatt Range provides a wide and unique range of measurements, including tensile forces on wires, cables, stranded wires, threads, optical fibres, glass-fibres, tyre cords and other flexible material. The measurement can be reached by adjusting the middle roller. Variable mechanic assures that setting different diameters of running material will not provide wrong measurement results. All components needed for tensile force measuring are integrated in a very flat housing, including: - Measuring system with measuring and guide rollers; - Amplifier with analogue output; - Setting zero-point and amplifying (calibration).
