| Lamifil N.V, Belgium, is a European producer of trolley wires or contact wires made of copper and alloys, as well as bare cables made of copper (alloys) or aluminium (alloys) for railway overhead electrification. Being an integrated producer of copper cable and aluminium cable, the company also offers raw materials, such as wire rods or drawn wires, for the production of trolley wires or bare cables. Lamifil offers trolley wires or contact wires with different profiles and sections franging from 80mm2 up to 150mm2 made of copper, copper-silver, copper-magnesium or copper-cadmium, according to all major specifications (UIC, NFC, BSS, DIN, etc). According to the type of lines (heavy traffic, normal operation, high-speed lines, etc) different sections or different alloys will be used.
Lamifil also produces bare cables for overhead electrification (copper and its alloys), as well as connections for power supply grids (aluminium and its alloys). The production of overhead conductors enables the company to offer a �one-shop� full range of bare conductors, commonly used in railway electrification. Bare cable sections can vary from 10mm2 up to more than 1,000mm2. For overseas markets, Lamifil also provides finished products, as well as wire rods or drawn wires used to produce conductors for overhead electrification. Wire rods in copper, copper-silver, copper-magnesium or copper-cadmium are available in a wide range of diameters. Wire rods in aluminium or AlMgSi are available as 9.5mm. Earthing wires in copper or aluminium can also be produced according to customer�s requirements.
Lamifil belongs to the Lamitref Industries Group, which ranks among the top three European copper transformers. Its sister company MKM (Germany) is a major producer of copper and copper-silver wire rod. Among Lamifil�s key accounts are the Belgian (NMBS/SNCB), French (SNCF), Dutch (NS) and Italian Railways. Railtrack (UK), Chinese Ministry of Railways, CFL (Luxembourg), Renfe (Spain) and a number of metro / tramway lines have also approved products.
