| The MEP Group, Italy, comprising MEP, Beta Systems and Omes, offers technologically innovative machines and complete installations for reinforcement steel processing. The product range includes stirrup benders, re-bar shaping machines, straightening and cutting machines, cage assemblers, mesh plants and bar cutting and bending lines, lattice girders plants.
MEP provides the industry with a wide range of cutting machines. These machines feature shears that are powered either hydraulically or electro-mechanically, according to required applications. These machines have been designed to operate from coils (wire diameters ranging from 4 to 20mm) and from bars (from 5 to 40mm ) that are processed individually or simultaneously. Up to 3 bars of 40mm can be cut simultaneously. When starting from coil, the process always includes a wire straightening phase. This phase can be carried-out either using rollers such as the patented and highly efficient MEP SYSTEM using rotors with traditional bushes (provided by Omes) or rotors with rollers, the hyperbolic straightening technology provided by Beta Systems. In all cases, the cutting is followed by programmable systems of distribution and storage for the processed material.
Through its sister-company Beta Systems, MEP also provides the industry with a variety of electro-welded mesh plants. This range of plants includes those operating from coil, in which the wire is straightened and cut in continuous operation to produce either special/engineered mesh or standard mesh panels (up to 2 panels simultaneously) and / or rolls, with speeds reaching up to 240 strokes per minute. MEP also offers plants that operate from pre-straightened bars, allowing all types of mesh and zero set-up time. Automatic plants to produce electro-welded girders (A trusses) also form part of the product range, as well as pre-cage and cage assemblers which offer high-versatility in cage profile.
