State-of-the-art measurement technology for spring testing
Institute of Spring Technology (IST), UK, has recently launched its new range of load and torque testing machines operating within Windows, enabling to extend and improve the facilities that these machines offer. IST new testing machines now feature capabilities such as user-friendly highly flexible programming language; movement control to specified positions or specified deflection; 100% or batch testing of springs; full SPC to QS9000 in real time; test certificates printing; easy-to-read result screens; load deflection graphs with theoretical curve and tolerances; rapid save and recall facility for test data and machine programmes; networking; single ultra-high resolution load range.

Institute of Spring Technology also supplies a standard range of spring fatigue testing machines for evaluating dynamic spring performance. These machines are designed to be easy to set-up and use, and are built to give many years of excellent service. All of the machines have variable speed facilities, from 10% to full-scale to enable accurate simulation of service conditions and have the following features. These machines offers the following features: - Infinitely variable stroke for accurate testing of all spring designs; - Automatic cycle counting for continuous display of cycles achieved; - Test station fully guarded; - Pre-set test duration to allow week-end and holiday period testing; - Failure detection and automatic shut-down to allow 24 hour unattended running.
