| Beaumont Machinery and B&F; Carter Wire Division, UK, suppliers of process machinery for the manufacture of electric cable and industrial hose, have recently upgraded their range of Winget Syncro power point and stringer machines, such as the PPS1 machine, a unit that is suitable for the pointing and stringing of copper or aluminium wires up to 9.5mm .
The pointing rolls are conveniently positioned and have 10 grooves to give progressively smaller diameters to suit each die. It is a feature of the pointing rolls design that the material is returned towards the operator after pointing, rather than being drawn into the rollers. The capstan block comprises a cast wheel fitted with a self-locking wire vice. The drive to the capstan is made by a friction clutch which can be manually adjusted to vary the pull. The die holder is mounted on a heavy steel arm, which pivots to access the whole working surface of the capstan. Also available are the PPS0 unit that is suitable for wires up to 12.7mm and the portable C13 for wires up to 4.12mm .
Beaumont Machinery offers both complete extrusion lines extruders and line components, rope and copper braiders, re-engineering, and refurbishment of cable machinery and extruders in general. The company also manufactures capstans, caterpillars, water troughs, die-heads, extruders pay-off and take-up as well as electrical control systems. B&F; Carter provides the industry with carter braiders and braider carriers, carter stranders and drum-twisters, Winget Syncro wire drawing machines, Babcock wire equipment, rod breakdown machines as well as Hansen & Edwards tubular stranders.
