| Established in 1954, the American company Owl Wire & Cable Inc. specialises in the manufacture of uninsulated copper, tin plated wire and cable that are suitable for electrical applications in such major industries as building, appliance automotive and electronics. Wire and cable are produced in sizes ranging from 4/0 to 36 AWG, in single-end, bunched, stranded, concentric, semi-concentric, smooth bunched, roped, tinned topcoat and overcoat constructions. The company was the first wire fabricator in the Western Hemisphere to implement the drawing of multiple copper wires. Today, Owl multi-wire technology has developed and expanded to enable bunched construction to be produced in 1,000-lb packages free of single-end brazes or butt welds. Stranding and bunching capacities have also been increased, and a new drawing, bunching and plating equipment has been added.
Owl Wire & Cable Inc recently added the capacity and expertise to produce alloy constructions. Currently the company produces copper clad aluminum in sizes down to 34 AWG and has developed a tri-metal product for the communications industry, which will be cost-effective and perform to higher standards than regular products currently on the market.
