| For many years, the German company Peter Greven Fett-Chemie GmbH has been providing the industry with lubricants for the wire drawing industry. The company's portfolio includes a wide range of drawing sodium and calcium soaps. To meet customers' requirements, the company has recently developed a new product line, branded Liganit, designed for the drawing of iron, steel and stainless steel wire, low and high-carbon wire, as well as mechanically descaled or pickled wire.
The company's range of sodium soaps meets the requirements of modern wire production with respect to forming performance, tool life quantities and profitability thanks to the use of high-quality fatty acids in combination with selected additives and special production methods. Thin layers of lubricants and high water-solubility of the remaining layers make it possible to produce wires with minimum surface roughness and maximum final cleanliness. Furthermore, Peter Greven offers a range of calcium soaps featuring the right type and quantity of used oleochemical raw materials, a selection of suitable additives, and saponification under high-temperature conditions as well as careful grinding. Good surface covering and virtual water-insolubility of these lubricants guarantee safe drawing of mechanically de-scaled wires, even with subsequent wet drawing. Moderate lubricant coatings and high melting points make it possible to form pickled steel and stainless steel qualities.
