Electronic Magic announced recently that it has changed its company name to Cimteq. The goal of the name change is to strengthen the Computer Integrated Manufacturing brand focus.
Cable Builder, Cimteq’s leading cable design software tool, is continuing to provide competitive advantage to wire and cable manufactures, such as Draka and others.
The knowledge management tools in Cable Builder allow the capture of design and production rules at the heart of the system.
The remainder of the system allows users to maximise and share the accumulated knowledge resulting in increased engineering productivity, improved consistency of designs and reduction in production costs.
The company is now offering an interactive drawing module to enable companies manufacturing special cables to rapidly produce error-free quotation and manufacturing instructions.
Cimteq has recently launched its workflow module to support total quality and traceability of design changes. Sales and production departments are barred from using obsolete information without the necessary approvals.
This not only prevents errors, but also reduces the cost of quality. Companies who have implemented Cable Builder are now able to improve the quality of their cables, their processes and their customer services, while at the same time reducing costs, scrap and rework.
