EXHIBITOR DETAILS: Stand 16E31
Zwick GmbH & Co
Zwick, the materials testing machine specialist, is focusing on tensile and compression testing and will present a variety of solutions geared towards the metal industry.
The company says: “The ProLine is ideal for quality control applications where ease of use combined with our intelligent and reliable testXpert II software makes life easy for laboratory personnel. The Z0.5 with its rated force of 500 N is perfectly suited to the tensile testing of wires. Using 20N spring grips and 500N wedge screw grips, the ProLine machine is able to grip high-strength or very delicate specimens safely and securely.”
Depending on the test requirements, measurements may be performed with or without extensometers, and this will be demonstrated on the stand using a 100kN ProLine machine.
The machine is equipped with a Zwick high resolution digital macro-extensometer, and is ideal for the tensile testing of metals.
The macro extensometer allows both proof stress (offset yield) values as well as elongation at failure to be measured with ease.
For accurate testing of cold-worked springs, Zwick can offer a testing machine from the zwicki line.
The company observes: “A precision-guided compression spring frame, ISO 7500-compliant load cell, residual magnetism-free precision compression platens, and an electrically interlocked safeguard combine to guarantee the highest accuracy and safety.”
Zwick’s software testXpert II captures and measures values automatically. Independently of the test data acquisition, testXpert II controls and monitors the test sequence, and performs statistical analysis on the results as well as documenting them.
Just as for all other standards-compliant tests, the software includes programs for the testing of metals that captures all the relevant characteristic data.
As a world leader in fully automated testing systems, Zwick has developed a new robotic testing machine which can hold 20 samples in a magazine.
The samples, having had their dimensions measured in advance, are placed into a magazine and tested automatically.
This allows laboratory personnel to perform other duties whilst the precise positioning of specimens into the testing machine and the lack of manual handling results in much more accurate and repeatable test results. (For further information on the robotic testing machine, see the New Product Showcase starting on page 54).
