Tensometric-Messtechnik GmbH

Tensometric will unveil its new friction meter RK-LD at wire 2006. This has been developed for calculating the friction coefficient µd according to DIN EN 60851-3 method B.

The measuring unit is used in order to check the influence of different finish on the operating characteristics of enamel copper wire or other flexible materials with diameters from 0.1–0.8mm. When the friction coefficient µd of enamel copper wire is known it will be possible, for example, to have an effect on the packing density of a motor armature coil during winding.

The friction meter is complete with the Tensometric software RK-LD-WIN. This controls the friction meter and calculates the result of a measurement.

For measuring and monitoring the wire tensile forces of rotating stranding machinery the mobile IMP-TENS system has been enhanced for copper wires up to 4mm diameter.

With the aid of only one sensor the tensile forces of every single wire are measured during one machine turn. Using this information the constancy of stranding can be assured.
