REDEX designs and manufactures a range of cold flattening rolling mills dedicated to the production of rectangular and shaped copper, aluminium and steel wire, and magnet wire, for the construction and automotive industries. In order to make its rolling mills even more flexible so they can make rectangular or shaped wire on the same equipment, REDEX is introducing the T4i profiled wire head, based on the four rolls ‘Turks Heads’ principle.

The company claims many benefits for this concept: “The whole four rolls mill is delivered as a self contained compact assembly, in order to be easily interchangeable with one of the standard two high mills already installed on the machine. It has extra high frame stiffness, based on the usual two high mill frame design.”

Furthermore the modular design allows the main components to be changed quickly, such as the four rolls themselves.

The T4i has two power driven horizontal axis rolls and it is possible to easily make very fine adjustments of each roll position. It also has motorised and closed loop controlled position of the upper roll. The company also offers high-speed traversing lines which have been designed for high-speed recoiling operations (up to 600 metres per minute). The com-puterised traverse control guarantees perfect packaging of the coil.
